A successful run of the PGC’s Operation Tuli program was conducted on April 6, at Barangay Manggahan, City of General Trias, providing essential medical services to young male beneficiaries in the community.
A total of 101 patients safely underwent circumcision, performed by skilled and dedicated medical professionals from the Office of the Provincial Health Officer (OPHO), General Trias Rural Health Unit, and interns from the Cavite State University College of Medicine. The collaborative effort ensured that all procedures were carried out efficiently, following proper medical standards and protocols.
The activity was also graced by 6th District Board Member Kerby Salazar, who showed support for the initiative and emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare services at the community level.

The Provincial Government of Cavite through the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), successfully conducted the Government Internship Program (GIP) Orientation on April 6, at the New Provincial Government Center in Trece Martires City.
A total of 57 government interns participated in the orientation and are set to be deployed across various local government units in the province, including the Provincial Government of Cavite, the cities of Trece Martires and Tagaytay City, and the municipalities of Mendez, Maragondon, Noveleta, Magallanes, Tanza, Indang, and Naic.
The orientation aimed to familiarize the interns with their roles, responsibilities, and the work environment within government offices. It also highlighted the importance of professionalism, public service, and adherence to ethical standards as they begin their internship journey.
The Government Internship Program (GIP) is a component of DOLE’s youth employment initiatives designed to provide opportunities for young individuals to gain meaningful work experience in government agencies. Through the program, interns are exposed to actual workplace settings where they can develop their skills, enhance their employability, and gain a deeper understanding of public service. The GIP also serves as a bridge for fresh graduates and out-of-school youth to transition into the workforce while contributing to nation-building.

For a New Philippines, the newly appointed members of the Climate Change Task Force – Science and Technology for Environmental Progress (CCTF-STEP) took their oath to fulfill their vital role in protecting the environment through science and technology.
The Climate Change Task Force (CCTF) operates under the supervision of the Climate Change Commission (CCC). The CCC aims to strengthen the country’s preparedness and resilience against the impacts of climate change while promoting smart and innovative solutions to environmental challenges in the Philippines.
The oath-taking of the new members and officers reflects the support of BauerTek Pharmaceutical Technologies, Kaibigan sa Kalusugan, and The GlobaLeader Inc. for initiatives aimed at combating climate change. Through tree-planting programs, BauerTek actively contributes to reducing carbon in the environment through carbon sequestration.
Led by Scientist/Inventor Richard Nixon Gomez, who has been designated as the National Commander of STEP, the task force will utilize innovative approaches and science-based solutions to address the challenges of climate change in the country.
The ceremony was graced by Commissioner Albert P. Dela Cruz of the Climate Change Commission, who also serves as Director General of the Climate Change Task Force.

In line with the celebration of Women’s Month and Fire Prevention Month, the Department of Science and Technology Ilocos Region (DOST Ilocos Region), through the leadership of Regional Director Teresita A. Tabaog, successfully conducted a Capacity Building Activity on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Disaster Preparedness on March 31, 2026, at the DOST Ilocos Region Multipurpose Hall in City of San Fernando, La Union. The activity brought together the DOST workforce from regional and provincial offices to strengthen their readiness in responding to disasters and emergencies.
The morning session opened with Mr. Michael John C. Maquiling, who provided an in-depth overview of the Philippine DRRM System, emphasizing its framework, key pillars, and the roles of various agencies. He highlighted DOST’s critical role in delivering science-based solutions and technologies to enhance disaster preparedness and response. Mr. Maquiling also guided participants through the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), ensuring that essential operations can be maintained during emergencies.
Following this, Mr. Edrussell S. Castillo introduced the DOST workforce to various DRRM technologies, including HazardHunterPH, GeoAnalyticsPH, PANAHON, and the SOLIDO DRRM Knowledge Hub. He also presented the newly launched HANDA Integrated Platform, designed to provide accessible, integrated digital solutions for effective disaster risk management.
The afternoon session focused on fire safety, led by SFO1 Al Zandrick Macuroy of the Bureau of Fire Protection – San Fernando City, La Union, together with FO1 John Samuel L. Olbinado. They delivered a lecture on Fire Safety and Basic Fire Response in the Workplace, equipping the workforce with essential knowledge on fire prevention, proper response, and workplace safety protocols.
Participants then engaged in a hands-on fire drill and fire suppression activity, where they practiced using fire extinguishers and applied safety techniques in simulated emergency scenarios. This practical experience ensured that the workforce could respond effectively during real-life incidents.
In her closing remarks, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Ms. Racquel Espiritu emphasized the importance of continuous preparedness and reaffirmed DOST’s commitment to fostering a safe and resilient workplace. She also highlighted inclusive participation, ensuring that all members of the workforce are equipped with the skills and knowledge to respond to emergencies.

The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Officer (OPPDAO), successfully held a meaningful celebration of the 22nd Women with Disabilities Day on March 30, at the New Provincial Government Center in Trece Martires City.
Anchored on the theme “Landas ng Makabagong Babaylan: Pantay, Inklusibo, at Lahat May Kakayahan,” the event brought together women with disabilities, key government agencies, and development partners to promote gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The program opened with welcome remarks from the Provincial Administrator, Engr. Gilbert V. Gandia and a special message from Board Member Rommel Enriquez, Committee Chairperson on Social Services, Women, Children and Elderly, who reaffirmed the province’s commitment to inclusive governance. A message of support was also shared by former National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) Executive Director Ms. Carmen Reyes-Zubiaga.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of programs and services from partner agencies, including DSWD Region IV-A, TESDA Cavite, PhilHealth, and various provincial offices such as the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, Office of the Provincial Health Officer, and other service units. These presentations provided participants with valuable information on accessible services, health programs, livelihood opportunities, and social protection initiatives for PWDs.
In addition, the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer, OPG-Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Office of the Provincial Legal Officer, and Office of the Provincial Population Officer provided booths showcasing their programs and services, allowing participants to directly engage with agencies and learn more about available support. The afternoon session featured an informal group discussion, encouraging participants to share experiences, insights, and recommendations to further improve programs for women with disabilities.
The event concluded with a program that synthesized key points and recommendations, led by the Lasallian Community Development Center, followed by the awarding of tokens and certificates of appreciation to partner agencies.

The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO) – Livelihood Division, successfully conducted an in-house training on pastries and delicacies, focusing on brownies and chocolate chip cookies making, on March 23, at Bahay Kalinga, Cavite Command Center compound, Trece Martires City.
The activity gathered 20 former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO), aiming to equip participants with practical skills that can serve as a source of livelihood.
Ms. Myrachel P. Cuadra, Officer-in-Charge of OPCDO, formally opened the program and welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of skills development in building sustainable income opportunities. This was followed by an inspiring message from Mr. Allan Valencia, RSW, MMus, of OPSWDO, who encouraged the participants to maximize the training as a stepping stone toward self-reliance.
An orientation on OPCDO programs and services was also conducted by Ms. Sheryll H. Loyola, Livelihood Division Head, to further guide participants on available support for their future ventures.
The training proper was facilitated by Ms. Corazon A. Tepora, who shared her expertise in baking, providing hands-on learning for the participants.

Ito ay mas mataas kumpara sa inflation ng rehiyon noong Pebrero 2026 na nasa 2.4 percent at 1.8 percent noong Marso 2025. Sa kasalukuyan, ang average inflation mula Enero hanggang Marso 2026 ay nasa antas na 3.0 percent.
Ang pangunahing dahilan ng mas mabilis na pagtaas sa pangkalahatang presyo ng mga kalakal at serbisyo sa rehiyon nitong Marso 2026 kumpara noong Pebrero 2026 ay ang mas mabilis na pagtaas ng presyo ng Transport na may 8.0 percent inflation. Ito ay nakapag-ambag ng 49.0 percent share sa pagtaas ng pangkalahatang inflation sa rehiyon.
Sinundan ito ng Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels na may 5.6 percent inflation at Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages na may 1.9 percent inflation.
Sa mga pangkat ng pagkain sa CALABARZON, nagpakita ng mas mabilis na pagtaas ng presyo ang Flour, Bread and Other Bakery Products, Pasta Products, and Other Cereals, na may 3.6 percent inflation; Milk, other dairy products and eggs, na may 2.0 percent inflation, partikular dito ang powdered milk; Fruits and nuts, na may 4.5 percent inflation, tulad ng saging; Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts na may 1.1 percent inflation, partikular ang peanut butter; at Ready-Made Food and Other Food Products not elsewhere classified na may 2.4 percent inflation, gaya ng infant formula.
Nagtala naman ng pagtaas ng presyo nitong Marso 2026 mula sa pagbaba noong Pebrero 2026 ang Bigas, na may 2.7 percent inflation.

Ang matagumpay na operasyon ay isinagawa ng mga tauhan ng Alfonso Municipal Police Station nitong Abril 5 ng hapon.
Nasamsam ng mga awtoridad ang dalawang pakete na naglalaman ng hinihinalang shabu na may timbang na higit o kulang 0.15 gramo, may tinatayang halaga na P1,080, isang piraso ng cal. 38 revolver (walang serial number), tatlong piraso ng bala ng caliber 38 revolver, isang piraso ng limang daang piso (₱500) na ginamit bilang buy-bust money, isang unit ng Infinix cellphone at isang piraso ng belt bag.

Sa pagtugis ay bumunot ng baril ang back rider at tinangkang barilin ang mga tumutugis na pulis na napilitang ipagtanggol ang kanilang sarili.
Nagtamo ng tama ng bala ng baril ang armadong suspek ngunit nakaligtas sa engkwentro at agad na dinala sa Mendez Specialist Hospital para malapatan ng lunas habang umiwas sa pagkakaaresto ang kanyang kasabwat.

Nabatid na ang robbery incident ay naganap dakong alas-3:00 ng hapon nitong Abril 6 at ito ay naiulat sa himpilan ng pulisya bandang alas-9:25 ng gabi ng nasabing petsa.
Nagtungo sa himpilan ng pulisya ang mga biktima at iniulat ang ang naganap na insidente.
Habang nasa loob umano ng kanilang tindahan ang mga biktima ay dumating ang dalawang suspek at nagpanggap na mga kostumer.
Kasunod ay ang biglang pagbunot ng hindi pa matukoy na kalibre ng baril ng isa sa mga suspek at nagdeklara ng holdap. Tinangay umano ng mga suspek ang halagang P7,000.00 na kita sa tindahan na pag-aari ng unang complainant, gayundin ang isang cellphone at humigit-kumulang P2,500.00 na cash mula sa ikalawang biktima at agad na tumakas ang mga ito lulan ng isang pulang motorsiklo.
Mabilis na rumesponde ang mga tauhan ng Tanza Municipal Police Station matapos matanggap ang ulat at nagsagawa ng follow-up operation na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng isa sa mga suspek sa tulong ng isang tricycle driver na siyang nasakyan ng mga suspek.
Sinusulat ito ay patuloy ang manhunt operation laban sa dalawa pang suspek.
