
LEGARDA NANAWAGAN NG AKSYON UPANG MAPIGILAN ANG PAGTAAS NG KASO NG DENGUE SA PILIPINAS
Nanawagan si Senadora Loren Legarda sa mga lokal na ahensya ng gobyerno na magpatupad ng best practices upang mapababa ang kaso ng dengue sa bansa.
Nabahala si Legarda, ang author ng National Environmental Awareness Education Act at author at principal sponsor ng Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, dahil sa pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ngayong taon.
“Tinatawagan natin ng pansin ang ating mga mamamayan, LGU, at mga landfill operator na gumawa ng mga hakbang na bawasan ang pagdami ng mga lamok sa pamamagitan ng paglilinis ng kani-kanilang lugar at masiguro ang tamang waste management,” giit ni Legarda.
“Ang maling pagtatapon ng basura, lalo na sa tag-ulan, ay nagdudulot ng nakatiwangwang na tubig, at nagiging pamugaran ng mga lamok. Dapat malinis ang mga ito upang maiwasan ang outbreak,” dagdag niya.
Nanawagan din si Legarda sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) na ipatupad nang tama ang Philippine Clean Water Act, na isa pang batas na kaniyang ipinasa, at pamahalaan ang mga water quality management area.
Binigyang-diin ni Legarda na ang maling paghawak ng tubig ay maaaring makapinsala sa kalusugan ng publiko, na nagdudulot ng mga sakit tulad ng dengue. Dagdag pa ng senadora na dapat magkaroon ng bagong istratehiya at polisiya upang maayos ang kani-kaniyang sewerage system, pati na ang pagtiyak sa malinis na tubig.
“Dapat maituro ang environmental education kung saan maintindihan ang mga batas at ang kalikasan mismo upang makagawa ng mga hakbang,” ani Legarda.
“Dapat ipaalam sa mga Pilipino ang kanilang responsibilidad sa pag-aalaga sa kalikasan.”
Nauna nang nagdeklara ang Quezon City ng dengue outbreak noong Pebrero 15 matapos ang mabilis na pag-angat ng mga kaso—tinatayang nasa 1,800 kaso sa 2025 o 200% na mas marami kumpara sa naitala noong 2024. Nasa 10 rin ang nasawi, kung saan walo rito ay menor de edad.
Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), bukod sa Quezon City, may walong iba pang lugar sa bansa ang maaaring magdeklara ng outbreak ng dengue dahil sa malaking pagtaas ng mga kaso. Ang mga lugar ay mula sa Calabarzon, Central Luzon, at National Capital Region.
Naitala ang mahigit 43,000 kaso ng dengue sa bansa noong Pebrero 15 na 56% na mas mataas kumpara sa dami ng kaso noong nakaraang taon sa parehong panahon, ayon sa DOH.

Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, City of Imus, Cavite– The warrant personnel of the General Trias Component City Police Station successfully apprehended a regional level most wanted person on January 28, 2025, in Barangay Pinagtipunan, Gen. Trias City, Cavite.
According to the report of PLTCOL JAYMAR B MARBELLA, Chief of Police, General Trias CCPS, the suspect, identified as alias “Ronnie,” 31 years old a resident of Brgy. Pinagtipunan, Gen. Trias City, Cavite, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for for the crime of RAPE UNDER ART. 266-A (I) RPC, AS AMENDED BY R.A. 8353 under Criminal case number TMCR 066-25 dated January 24, 2025, Branch 5 of RTC with no bail recommended.
The suspect is now under the custody of General Trias CCPS for documentation and proper disposition.

Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, City of Imus, Cavite- As a result of the implementation of Cavite PNPs Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) campaign, for period covering January 21-25, 2025, a total of 450 individuals were arrested.
Out of this number, 304 were arrested for illegal gambling, 71 for having standing warrants of arrest, 71 for illegal possession of drugs, and 4 for illegal possession of firearms.
In the operation against illegal gambling, a total of 304 individuals were arrested in 73 operations conducted against illegal number games and other forms of illegal gambling. Cavite PNP confiscated a total of cash money amounting to Php16,101.00 in different denominations as bet money.
On the campaign against wanted person, a total of 71 wanted persons were arrested wherein 25 of them are tagged as top most wanted persons listed in regional, provincial, city/municipal level while 46 others were listed as other wanted persons.
In the fight against illegal drugs, 71 drug persons were arrested in 54 buy-bust and other drug related operations conducted provincewide which yielded in the confiscation of a total of 278.92 grams of suspected shabu and 201.5 grams of suspected marijuana with a standard drug price of Php1,920,782.00.
On the campaign against loose firearms, five (5) operations were conducted and four (4) persons were arrested. A total of three (3) small arms and two (2) light weapons firearms were recovered and confiscated.

Sa ulat, bandang alas-6:00 ng umaga naganap ang pagsabog sa bahay sa Leon Fojas St., Brgy Sahud-Ulan, Tanza.
Agad namang rumesponde ang Tanza Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at Tanza Municipal Police Station kung saan tumambad sa kanila ang iba’t ibang paraphernalia at kagamitan na pinaniniwalaan ginagamit para sa paggawa ng illegal na droga.
Wala namang naabutan na tao sa nasabing bahay matapos ang pagsabog.
Sinasabing nangungupahan lamang ang nakatira sa nasabing bahay na umano’y dalawang Indonesian at 2 Pinoy nito lamang Nobyembre ng nakaraang taon at ang may-ari nito ay nasa ibang bansa.

Nasa kustodiya ng Imus Component City Police Station ang mga suspek na sina alyas Nikson ,43, mekaniko; at alyas Archie, 44, tricycle driver; kapwa residente ng Brgy Alapan 1B Imus City.

Ayon sa caretaker na si Maila Datu Guzman, nagising siya at nakitang nilalamon ng apoy ang nasabing restaurant bandang alas-11:42 ng gabi kaya dali-dali silang lumabas ng kanyang asawa at tinawagan ang may-ari ng resto hinggil sa insidente.
Sinabi ng may-ari ng restaurant na kanyang napansin na ang Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera at signage ay naka-turn off.

Kinilala ang biktima na si May, 17, ng Brgy San Agustin, Trece Martires City, habang inaalam pa ang pagkakakilanlan sa suspek na tumakas matapos ang insidente.
Sa ulat, naglalakad umano ang biktima sa Purok 2, San Agustin, Trece Martires City, bandang alas-2:30 ng madaling araw galing sa sari-sari store.
Sumulpot ang suspek at walang sabi-sabing pinagbabaril ang biktima na nagresulta sa kanyang kamatayan.
Matapos ang pamamaril ay tumakas ang suspek dala ang ginamit na baril.
