CITY OF CALAMBA, LAGUNA – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A (RSSO IV-A) conducted the 2025 Full-Year Official Poverty Statistics Regional Dissemination Forum of CALABARZON on 28 October 2026, bringing together representatives from government agencies, local government units, academic institutions, the private sector, and the media.
The forum featured valuable insights from Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) IV-A Regional Director Carmel P. Matabang and Driesch Lucien R. Cortel, Supervising Statistical Specialist of the Poverty and Human Development Statistics Division of the PSA Central Office, on the importance of poverty statistics in development planning and policymaking. Resource speakers Charity O. Bautista, Officer-in-Charge, and Joselyn G. Madrigallos, Statistical Specialist II, both from Statistical Operations and Coordination Division of PSA RSSO IV-A, presented the forum’s key statistical results.
As PSA CALABARZON Regional Director Charito C. Armonia emphasized in her welcome remarks, “Ang mga datos ay hindi lamang nagsisilbing sukatan ng ating kasalukuyang kalagayan, kundi gabay din sa pagtukoy ng mga kailangang gawin upang makamit ang isang mas inklusibo at maunlad na lipunan.”
The activity formed part of the 37th National Statistics Month celebration, with the theme, “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as a Beacon towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism.” Through the dissemination of official statistics, PSA RSSO IV-A continues to promote statistical literacy and encourage data-driven decision-making toward inclusive and sustainable development across CALABARZON.
