Samoan Delegation Visits CALABARZON to Learn About Philippine Identification System

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region IV-A, together with PSO Cavite welcomed a delegation from the Samoa Bureau of Statistics for a study visit on the implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), particularly on the registration process and the delivery of National ID services.

The visit provided the Samoan delegation an opportunity to learn from the Philippine experience in establishing and implementing a national identification system and its role in supporting efficient and inclusive government service delivery.

As part of the study visit held on 24 September 2026, the delegation observed the actual National ID registration of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries at Barangay Inocencion, Trece Martires City, Cavite, providing them with firsthand insight into how PSA brings registration services closer to program beneficiaries through inter-agency coordination.

The delegates also gained insights into the registration process, operational procedures, and mechanisms employed to make National ID registration accessible to Filipinos.

The study visit served as a venue for knowledge exchange and sharing of experiences on population and identity management between the Philippines and Samoa.

The engagement underscores the importance of collaboration among statistical and government institutions in developing identification systems that can contribute to secure identity verification and more efficient delivery of public services.
