PSA RSSO IV-A COMMEMORATES NATIONAL REFUGEE DAY 2026 THROUGH BLUE MONDAY ACTIVITY

The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A (PSA RSSO IV-A) joined the nation in commemorating National Refugee Day 2026 through a Blue Monday activity held at its regional office, showing solidarity with refugees, forcibly displaced persons, and stateless individuals worldwide.

National Refugee Day is observed every 20 June pursuant to Proclamation No. 265, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in 2023. The observance highlights the country’s commitment to supporting individuals and families forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict, violence, or persecution. This year’s observance carried the theme, “Solutions in Motion: Rebuilding Futures Together.”

As part of the celebration, PSA RSSO IV-A conducted a short program featuring the reading of the President’s message and the presentation of an advocacy audio-visual material on the plight, resilience, and contributions of refugees and displaced persons.

Employees also participated in the Ribbon of Hope activity and wore blue shirts as symbols of unity, compassion, and support. To further raise awareness, informational tarpaulins and an exhibit on refugee issues, refugee arrivals in the Philippines, and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were displayed at the office.

Through this observance, PSA RSSO IV-A reaffirmed its support for initiatives that promote inclusivity, understanding, and humanitarian action for displaced individuals and communities.
