The 2024 OWS and 2023/2024 ISLE Regional Data Dissemination Forum and 2025 QSPBI Regional Respondents’ Forum was held on 17 December 2025 in Ground Floor, Lakesroom, El Cielito Hotel, National Highway, Brgy. Pulong Sta. Cruz, City of Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The Program started with an Opening Prayer led by Maryan L. Briones, Administrative Assistant I of PSA RSSO IV-A.

There was an Acknowledgment of the Participants. RD Charito C. Armonia of PSA RSSO IV-A had the Welcome Message. Usec. Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of PSA had the Message thru an Audio-Visual Presentation.

The Overview of 2024 OWS & 2023/2024 ISLE was presented thru an Audio-Visual Presentation.

Presentation of the Results of 2024 OWS was delivered by Ms. Charity O. Bautista, OIC-SOCD Chief of PSA RSSO IV-A. SrSS Silver M. Quiatchon of PSA RSSO IV-A had the Presentation of the Results of 2023/2024 ISLE. There was an Open Forum wherein the participants had a chance to air their Concerns and Queries.

In the afternoon, Presentation of QSPBI Background was done thru an Audio-Visual Presentation. Mr. Christian P. Macatol, Statistical Specialist II of PSA CO – SSD had the presentation on The Role of QSPBI Data in Figuring Up the GDP of the Philippines.

Mr. Allan P. Datahan, Deputy Zone Administrator/Acting Zone Manager of First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) and Yazaki Torres Manufacturing Inc. had the Message of Support. Presentation of QSPBI Online Facility for Establishments was done thru an Audio-Visual Presentation.

There was an Open Forum wherein the participants had a chance to air their Concerns and Queries.

There was an Awarding of Plaque of Recognition to Most Responsive Establishments & Certificate of Appreciation to Resource Speaker & Guests.

The Program was formally closed thru the Closing Remarks given by Ms. Charity O. Bautista, OIC-SOCD Chief of PSA RSSO IV-A.

PGC releases educational assistance for CvSU Rosario students

The Provincial Government of Cavite, under the leadership of Governor Abeng Remulla, distributed financial assistance to 5,475 student-beneficiaries under the Provincial Scholarship Program during the Iskolar ng Lalawigan educational assistance distribution held on December 16 at Cavite State University–Rosario Campus.

The activity aimed to help ease students’ educational expenses while promoting academic excellence. Governor Remulla was joined by First District Board Members Romel Enriquez and Jygs Gandia, who expressed their support and encouragement to the scholars.

Bacoor City steps up relief efforts for fire victims

BACOOR CITY, Cavite (PIA) — The Bacoor City government has continued its relief efforts for families displaced by recent fires in Sitio Bulate, Barangay Dulong Bayan, and Camella East, Barangay San Nicolas 2.

Under the leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla and in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A, Family Food Boxes were distributed on Monday, December 15, 2025, to ensure that affected residents have sufficient food while staying in evacuation centers.

A total of 88 families, comprising 298 individuals from Sitio Bulate, along with one family of three from Camella East, received assistance. Each Family Food Box contains six kilos of rice, 10 cans of assorted canned goods, and 10 sachets of drink mix or soup, providing essential sustenance during their displacement.

The distribution was attended by DSWD Region IV-A representatives Marlden Tongson and Ric Vertudez, along with personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Office. 

According to the city government, this activity forms part of the city’s broader relief efforts, which have already included the provision of hot meals, hygiene kits, clothing, kitchen sets, and sleeping kits for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

City officials emphasized that relief operations will continue as monitoring and verification activities remain ongoing in the affected communities, assuring fire victims of sustained support and assistance throughout their recovery. (RBF)

PBBM, DILG laud 5 outstanding child-friendly LGUs

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., through Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, on Monday recognized the critical role of local governments in advancing children’s welfare during the 2025 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC).

Representing the President, Secretary Remulla led the conferment of the  Award to five child-friendly LGUs that demonstrated strong performance as duty bearers of children and youth through responsive local programs and policies. The awardees were selected from among the 1,091 LGUs nationwide that passed this year’s Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit.

We recognize these LGUs that have embraced a comprehensive approach to child and youth welfare by implementing outstanding programs that champion the rights and needs of every Filipino child,” Remulla said.

Institutionalized under Executive Order No. 184, series of 1999, the PACFMC recognizes LGUs with effective mechanisms in addressing children’s needs and concerns, anchored on the Seal of Child Friendly Local Governance of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).

Remulla called on the awardees to sustain their efforts in building child-responsive communities. “Continue fostering communities that are safe, inclusive, and participatory. Preserve the spaces where children can grow with dignity and hope,” he said.

This year’s awardees include Quezon City for the Highly Urbanized City category; Naga City for the Independent Component City category; Tagaytay City for the Component City category; Cabagan, Isabela for the First to Third Class Municipality category; and Santo Tomas, La Union for the Fourth to Sixth Class Municipality category.

Also present during the ceremony were Assistant Secretary Zabedin Asiz of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, CWC Executive Director Undersecretary Angelo Tapales, and members of the National Awards Committee. (DILG)

 

 

NHCP museums provide more sources to local researchers

MANILA – Before the year ends, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) announced that its twenty-eight shrines, museums, and historical landmarks across the country will soon host new resource centers and book nooks.

From Ilocos to Zamboanga, NHCP Shrines and Museums will now be able to cater to local researchers, students, and educators that need books and publications on Philippine History and heritage, with the hope of adding more reading materials moving forward, especially on the local history of their respective regions.

Soon, NHCP shrines and museums will also be linked digitally with the National Memory Project, allowing access to the collection of the Serifin Quiason Resource Center or NHCP Databank in Manila.

This initiative is part of the NHCP’s ongoing redevelopment of its shrines, museums, and historical landmarks in line with the Dekada ng Kasaysayan, the ten-year observance into 2033 and the NHCP’s centennial year.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures. (NHCP)

AWARDING CEREMONY OF GAWAD TAGA-ILOG IN THE PROVINCE OF CAVITE

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Calabarzon and Environment Managemenr Bureau (EMB) Calabarzon recognizes the contributions and initiatives of local government units, particularly barangays, in keeping their waterways and water bodies clean and trash-free through the awarding ceremony of Gawad Taga-Ilog (GTI) in the province of Cavite today, December 19.

The program aims to support the cleanup and rehabilitation activities of rivers in the province and inspire local government-led efforts through community-driven environmental stewardship.  (PIA CAVITE)

 

 

Kampanya kontra iligal na droga, pinapalakas ng Alfonso MPS

NANANATILING pinapalakas ng Alfonso Municipal Police Station ang kanilang kampanya kontra iligal na droga na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa isang indibidwal at nahulihan pa ng baril sa ikinasang matagumpay na operasyon kamakailan sa naturang bayan.

Kinilala ang suspek na si alyas Omy, residente ng Alfonso, na naaresto dakong ala-1:00 ng umaga nitong Disyembre 23.

Ang buy-bust operation ay isinagawa ng mga tauhan ng Station Drug Enforcement Unit at Intelligence personnel ng Alfonso MPS makaraang makatanggap ng intelligence reports hinggil sa pagkakasangkot ng suspek sa aktibidad ng iligal na droga at pagkakaroon ng loose firearms.

Sa nasabing operasyon ay nakuha sa pag-iingat ng suspek ang isang hindi rehistradong kalibre .45 na pistola na walang serial number, magazine, iba’t ibang bala, limang heat-sealed sachet na naglalaman ng mahigit kumulang labindalawang gramo ng hinihinalang shabu na tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng humigit-kumulang ₱81,600.00, buy-bust money, cellphone, at personal na gamit.

Dinala sa Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit ang mga nakumpiskang ebidensiya ng droga para sa laboratory examination, habang ang kahilingan para sa verification ng baril ay ipinasa sa Regional Civil Security Unit 4A upang matukoy ang pinagmulan at legalidad nito.

Wanted sa Indang, nadakip sa Imus

NADAKIP ang isang Rank No.2 Municipal Level Most Wanted ng Indang sa isinagawang manhunt operation kamakailan sa Imus City, Cavite.

Kinilala ang akusado na si alyas Will, at naninirahan sa Imus City.

Ang matagumpay na operasyon ay isinagawa ng warrant personnel ng Indang Municipal Police Station nitong Disyembre 23.

Ang pagkakadakip sa akusado ay sa bisa ng warrant of arrest para sa krimen ng Homicide sa ilalim ng Article 249 ng Revised Penal Code.

Napag-alaman na ang warrant ay inilabas ng Regional Trial Court, Branch 15, Naic, Cavite.

 

Pagtalakay ng ACPSS tungkol sa embahador ng Tsina para sa 2026 Economic Work Plan ng Tsina

Binanggit ng Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies (ACPSS) ang bagong Chinese Ambassador sa Pilipinas na si Jing Quan tungkol sa 2026 Economic Work Plan ng China ang pagbubukas para sa Pilipinas malugod na tinanggap ng Pilipinas ang tagapagtayo ng tulay ng China.

Sa huling regular na Media Forum para sa 2025, sinabi ni ACPSS President Herman “Ka Mentong” Tiu Laurel na tinatalakay nila ang mga isyung nakakaapekto sa bansa, na binanggit ang pagkamatay ni DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) Undersecretary Ma. Catalina Cabral.

Itinuro niya ang 2026 Economic Work Plan ng China. Binigyang-diin ni Laurel ang artikulo sa Global Times tungkol sa Key meeting maps out plan for China’s economic work in 2026 kung saan ilan sa mga pangunahing punto ng ekonomiya ay ang pagpapalakas ng domestic demand at karagdagang pagbubukas, na nangangahulugang pagbubukas ng pinto para sa mas maraming mamumuhunan.

Binanggit din niya ang Xinhua Headlines. Mga makasaysayang tagumpay ng Tsina sa sosyo-ekonomiya sa nakalipas na limang taon kung saan ang taong ito ay minarkahan ang huling yugto ng Central Economic Work Conference ng Tsina 2025. 

Binigyang-diin niya ang ulat noong Nobyembre tungkol sa kinatawan ng WTO (World Trade Organization), na idinagdag na naungusan ng Vietnam ang Pilipinas bilang nag-export ng saging sa China. apektado ang mga magsasaka sa Mindanao, “na nakalulungkot dahil nasa amin sana ang kalamangan.”

Napansin ni Laurel ang pagbaba ng bilang ng mga turista sa Pilipinas noong 2019 mula 1.5 milyon hanggang 300,000, na limang beses na pagbaba sa pagkalugi sa turismo.

Binanggit niya na nakipagpulong ang FFCCCII (Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.) sa bagong Ambasador ng China upang itaguyod ang mga export ng Pilipinas, turismo, at ang 2026 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Chinese Business Leaders Summit.

Sa bagong Chinese ambassador, binanggit ni Laurel ang Bucana Bridge sa Davao na kakabukas lang, na proyekto noon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, ngunit umano ay inaangkin ng administrasyon ni Marcos ang karangalan.

“Ang Global Finance Initiative ni Pangulong Xi Jinping ng Tsina na nakabatay sa multipolar na mundo, ay isang magandang gabay para sa lahat, lalo na sa Africa, na unti-unting lumalayo sa Amerika, gayundin sa Indonesia sa BRICS, at iba pa,” sabi ni Laurel.

Sinabi ni Adolfo “Ka Ado” Paglinawan, Pangalawang Pangulo ng ACPSS para sa Internal na mga Bagay, na “sa pag-export ng saging, mula 1.4 milyong metriko tonelada ay bumaba sa 460,000 metriko tonelada, na nangangahulugang 67% na pagbaba sa ating pag-export ng saging sa Tsina.” Idinagdag ni Paglinawan, “Noong 2020, ito ay dahil sa Covid-19, noong 2021, 2022 ay dapat nasa yugto na ng pagbangon at marami sanang nagawa si Pangulong Duterte, ngunit dalawa lamang ang nagawa niya at kalahating taon sa ilalim ng normal na mapang-akit na mga taon.”

“Ang kampanya laban sa Tsina (Sinophobia) ay nagsimula pa noong sa pamumuno ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,” dagdag pa niya.

Binigyang-diin ni Paglinawan na ipinadala ng China si Ambassador Jing Quan, na isang tulay upang mapabuti ang diplomasya ng China at Pilipinas at mabalanse ang dobleng-likurang operasyon ng Amerika sa Pilipinas.

Si Quan ay isang kasamahan sa Brookings noong 2004. Ang Institusyon ng Brookings ay itinatag noong 1916. Si Quan ay isang nangungunang tinig para sa pangunahing, sentrista, o center-left na pananaw sa patakaran.

“Alam ng Tsina na hindi si Pangulong Marcos ang problema. Alam ng Tsina na ang mga aninong gumagalaw sa Malacañang ay mga Amerikano,” sabi ni Paglinawan.

Sinabi ni Paglinawan na maraming eksperto mula sa Brookings ang na-recruit ni dating Pangulong US Joe Biden noong unang bahagi ng 2020

Binanggit ni Paglinawan sa Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies ang mga pananaw ni Jing Quan tungkol sa patakarang panlabas ng US sa Silangang Asya, lalo na sa magagandang aspeto ng ugnayang China-US una parehong binibigyan ng pinakamataas na pinuno sa magkabilang panig ng malaking halaga ang bilateral na relasyon. Pangalawa, ang mga partidong Republican at Democratic ay nakarating sa isang uri ng pagkakaisa kung paano pamahalaan ang relasyon sa China.

Idinagdag niya ang mga negatibong punto tungkol sa ugnayan ng Tsina at US magkaibang sistema ng lipunan ang dalawang bansa. Sinasabi ng mga tao sa Estados Unidos kailangan nating ibase ang ating patakarang panlabas sa ating mga pagpapahalaga.

Tungkol sa pananaw ni Jing sa patakarang panlabas ng US, sinabi ni Paglinawan na tungkol ito sa malambot laban sa matinding kapangyarihan. Ang mahigpit na konserbatibong pamamaraan sa patakarang panlabas ng US ang nangingibabaw sa paggawa ng patakarang panlabas.

Ngunit ang pinaniniwalaan ko ay dapat bigyang-halaga ng Estados Unidos ang kanilang soft power nang higit pa. May ilang tao sa Estados Unidos na itinuturing ang pag-angat ng Tsina bilang pagtatangkang itaboy ang Estados Unidos mula sa Asia. Ang layunin namin ay hindi itaboy o paalisin ang Estados Unidos mula sa Asia, kundi subukan na makipag-ugnayan at makipagtulungan sa Estados Unidos.

 

SLI, timbog sa buy bust

TIMBOG ang isang Street Level Individual (SLI) matapos ang matagumpay na buy-bust operation na isinagawa ng mga awtoridad kamakailan sa Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Ang suspek na si alyas Amino,  residente ng Dasmariñas City, ay naaresto dakong alas-11:40 ng gabi nitong Disyembre 21 sa nasabing lungsod.

Nabatid na isang pulis ang nagsilbing poseur buyer at gumamit ng isang pirasong limang-daang piso bilang marked money para sa transaksiyon sa suspek.

Dito na isinagawa ang pag-aresto sa suspek at nakumpiska mula sa kanyang pag-iingat ang dalawang pirasong heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets na naglalaman ng hinihinalang shabu na may kabuuang timbang na 25.48 gramo at may tinatayang standard drug price na ₱173,264.00, gayundin ang isang pirasong ₱500.00 bill na ginamit bilang buy-bust money.

Isinagawa ang operasyon ng mga mga tauhan ng Dasmariñas City Police Station sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency gamit ang Alternative Recording Device.

Ang suspek ay naharap sa kasong paglabag sa Sections 5 at 11, Article II ng Republic Act 9165.

 

RLMWP ‘nadagit ng pulis-Kawit

ISANG Regional Level Most Wanted Person (RLMWP) ang naaresto ng pulis-Kawit matapos ang matagumpay na operasyon na isinagawa kamakailan sa Silang, Cavite.

Ang akusadong si akyas Leyster, residente ng Kawit, ay naaresto sa Silang, dakong 1:25 ng hapon nitong Disyembre 23.

Nabatid na ang akusado ay may kinakaharap na kasong statutory rape (Article 266-A (1) ng Revised Penal Code), at walang inirekomendang piyansa para sa pansamantalang kalayaan nito.

Mga operatiba ng Warrant Section ng Kawit Municipal Police Station ang nagsagawa ng operasyon gamit ang Alternative Recording Device.

Warrant, inihain sa loob ng piitan

ISANG Municipal Level Wanted Person na kasalukuyang nakapiit ang inahinan ng warrant of arrest kamakailan sa General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.

Nakilala ang akusado na si alyas Daniel, residente ng naturang bayan, at kasalukuyang nakapiit sa BJMP GMA dahil sa iba pang pagkakasala o kaso nito.

Napag-alaman na dakong alas-9:40 ng umaga nitong  Disyembre 23 inihain ng mga warrant personnel ng General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) Municipal Police ang naturang warrant of arrest.

Ito ay para sa kasong frustrated homicide na may inirekomendang piyansa para sa kanyang pansamantalang kalayaan na nagkakahalaga ng ₱72,000.00.
